Swift Hockey U.S. Import Tariff Policy
Effective Date: March 4, 2025
Last Updated: March 4, 2025
Overview
Swift Hockey Inc. is committed to delivering high-performance hockey equipment at fair and competitive prices. To ensure transparency for our U.S. customers, this policy explains responsibilities related to import duties, tariffs, and customs fees when shipping products into the United States.
Swift Hockey manufactures its products in Pakistan and also operates a facility in the United States. Orders fulfilled from our U.S. facility ship domestically and do not incur U.S. import duties or tariffs. Orders fulfilled from outside the United States may be subject to U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) duties, depending on the product and shipment method.
While Swift Hockey does not cover import duties or tariffs, we take every reasonable step to ensure accurate product classification and compliant documentation so customers are not charged more than necessary.
Tariff Responsibility
As of March 4, 2025, certain sporting goods imported into the United States may be subject to duties or tariffs imposed by U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP). For Swift Hockey products manufactured in Pakistan, base U.S. duty rates are typically low or duty-free, depending on the product’s tariff classification.
Any applicable duties, tariffs, brokerage fees, or customs charges are the sole responsibility of the importer of record (the buyer).
Swift Hockey Inc. is not liable for any import duties, tariffs, brokerage, or customs fees assessed on U.S. imports.
Who Is Liable for Tariffs?
Individual Customers (Retail Orders):
Customers purchasing Swift Hockey products for delivery into the United States are considered the importer of record and are responsible for any applicable duties or customs fees if the order ships from outside the U.S. Orders fulfilled from the Swift Hockey U.S. facility ship domestically and are not subject to import tariffs.
Team Orders & Bulk Purchases:
Teams, organizations, and institutions importing Swift Hockey products into the U.S. are responsible for all customs, tariff, and brokerage charges associated with international shipments.
Dealers & Resellers:
Dealers and resellers importing Swift Hockey products for resale within the United States are responsible for all import-related fees, compliance requirements, and documentation.
Customs Clearance & Payment
For international shipments, U.S. Customs may require payment of duties or fees before releasing a shipment. Shipping carriers (such as UPS, FedEx, or USPS) typically contact the recipient if payment is required.
Failure to pay applicable charges may result in:
- Delayed delivery
- Return to sender
- Additional storage or return fees
All such costs remain the responsibility of the customer.
Minimizing Tariff Impact
Swift Hockey works proactively to reduce tariff exposure by:
- Operating a U.S.-based facility to fulfill domestic orders whenever possible
- Accurately classifying products under U.S. tariff codes to ensure the lowest applicable duty rate
- Manufacturing products in Pakistan, which generally carries lower U.S. import tariffs for sporting goods
- Providing complete and compliant customs documentation
- Partnering with carriers that offer transparent brokerage and duty calculations
While tariffs cannot always be eliminated, these steps help keep costs as low and predictable as possible.
Exemptions & Alternatives
Customers with U.S.-based business partners, warehouses, or freight forwarders may explore consolidated or bulk shipping options to further reduce import costs.
Some products may qualify for alternative tariff classifications with reduced duty rates. Customers may consult U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) or a licensed customs broker for guidance.
Agreement to Terms
By placing an order with Swift Hockey Inc. for delivery into the United States, you acknowledge and agree to this import tariff policy. Swift Hockey Inc. is not responsible for any tariff-related costs, and failure to pay such charges does not constitute grounds for cancellation or refund.
